There is a famous modern notion that you can only succeed by doing what you love and by bringing love to others. I have always believed that enough to pursue my dream degree in theoretical physics. Don't get me wrong, I still hold this belief. However, now I also know that love might be necessary but not sufficient for success, especially in the job search process. After graduating from university, I have learned a simple and painful truth - it's hard to find a job, even with the best job search tools and job search strategy.

I recall how my first successful interview felt like a marathon win. I was sweaty and nervous, intoxicated with the endorphins of a new position. Those emotions didn't necessarily mean that I actually liked the job or that the promised pay rate was satisfying. It was the feeling of relief from finally ending this, rather infinite, activity of the job searching. I have started working for a plain and boring corporation, doing what I have always tried to avoid. It took me to the very thing that my grandma told me not to do. Then, quite unexpectedly, after several months in my workplace, I had to move so far away that none of my career achievements really mattered anymore. "Back to the labor market," I thought to myself, already imagining the pain and misery that I was going to indulge once again in my life.

After a couple of sleepless nights, I thought "Why does it need to be this way?" I have decided to code a job seeking AI that would be of help in applying to the vacancies (which is 11 hours per week on average but can take up to 25 hours per week according to The Balance). My idea wasn't to create a mindless autofill system that would still need me to be present while it was doing the job. The goal was to make a smart AI job application tool that would allow me to work on my skills and focus on networking, while AI job finder looks for vacancies, tailors the cover letter with an AI cover letter generator, and answers the same questions over and over again. Pretty ambitious, right? That was my exact thought, while I was scrolling through LinkedIn, in search of yet another job that would leave a taste of disappointment in my mouth, only to be able to pay my bills. But then I thought to myself "f@#* it" and in several months I had a prototype of an AI job search tool that was able to do the things I needed it to do, i.e. analyze my resume to match it with the jobs on the market, tailor my cover letter and give me advice based on it and also actually apply for positions.

According to the TopResume, the average job search in the United States takes 5 months.  The moment I found out about this figure was the moment that I understood - I could make my grandma proud after I thought that I was completely lost. Not only by finding a job for myself but by helping other people to find the thing they love, I would get to the true meaning of success - the love that can be shared with others.
